This year's theme is ‘Digital Support in Defence’.
Support within the MOD continues to undergo significant transformation and modernisation to ensure our armed forces remain prepared and able to deliver effective, resilient, global operations well into the future. The impact and significance of sustainability has also become increasingly important as the MOD works towards its goal of reaching Net Zero emissions by 2050.
The opportunities to harness and share data securely across the defence enterprise with minimal ‘friction’ is key to achieving these objectives. Innovations in technology allow us to exploit digital information as never before, incorporating tools and techniques such Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Additive Manufacture (AdM) and Digital Twin.
Close cooperation between MOD, Industry and academia remains fundamental to achieving this digital transformation and realising the benefits of Digital Support in Defence.
SCDS20 provides a highly informative forum for the ‘Team Defence’ community to discuss these key initiatives, exchange information, strengthen relationships, and become engaged in collaborative MOD/Industry Working Groups.
Agenda
This year SCDS20 will be delivered over 2 days:
Day One – 23 Sep: Delivering Digital Support Enabling Capability
Day Two – 24 Sep: Information Led Transformation
