PAST EVENT Defence Information 2019 (DI'19) - 10 & 11 April
Our annual Defence Information ’19 Event took place on 10 & 11 April 2018 with the theme of Information Enabled Modernisation. Organised jointly by MOD and Industry, 'Team Defence; was well-represented as delegates, keynote speakers, panelists, workshop leads, exhibitors, finalists in the 2019 Excellence Awards and more. Thank you to all who participated in making this a highly informative and rewarding event. Congratulations to all the entrants for the inaugural TD-Info innovation Award aimed at SMEs and Start-up companies. The Challenge (set by the MOD) they were asked to address was 'Explainable Machine Learning in the context of Defence'. DIEManalytics were judged to be the 2019 winners - read their submission here. 2019 was the launch of the Defence Information Innovation Zone - a unique opportunity for Start-ups and Small-to-Medium enterprises (SMEs) to showcase their technologies to the MOD and senior figures from the defence Industry.
The 2019 Challenge is Explainable Machine Learning in the context of Defence -
set by the MOD Information Systems and Services (ISS) Innovation team. Entrants need to submit their solution - in up to 300 words - to luca.leone@teamdefence.info by 18th March.
There will be a shortlist of up to six companies. Each will get the opportunity to present its solution at the Defence Information (DI’19) event 10-11 April 2019. Judges are a board of senior representatives of MOD and Industry and the 2019 Innovation Award will be presented for the most promising Challenge solution
